The conspiracy theory-ception

So most people I know of (me included) started anti-governmental idea-making and turned to conspiracy theories the past few months.
So here lies the question:
Is this whole thing a conspiracy theory to make us believe in other conspiracy theories that are mistaken so the real conspiracy remains hidden?
I fried my brain again, I know.

I think I understand. They create lies about things that are true and then spread them about to distract people from the ones that are fake, right?
