There was recently, around the same time as the Conn. shooting, an incident in China where a person slashed 22 children in an elementary school with a knife.
I'm just saying... take away private gun ownership, and our country has one more thing in common with Communist China.
Having something in common with China has NOTHING to do with the subject matter in hand. If I am not mistaken this is called a Straw Man fallacy in logical debate. You are using the demonization of China and trying to say that if we are like them in some way we are closer to something negative. Please stay on topic. *Before anyone responds with "but the killer stole the weapons from his mother" the point remains that his mother HAD THESE WEAPONS. I am NOT calling it her fault, I am faulting the easy access to such high caliber and powerful guns.
Actually, my China comment had everything to do with the topic...
The banning of guns has nothing to do with 1. China 2. Communism 3. The U.S. becoming anything closer to China. This is all non-sequitur. And you pointing out it is COMMUNIST China is a little outdated. Go back to McCarthy and you will fit right in.

http://now.msn.com/morgan-freeman-newtown-statement-is-a-hoaxMorgan Freeman didn't say that, though I still agree with his opinions. I feel like you can't use the shooting in Connecticut as an example as to why you should tighten gun control (not banning) because no matter the screening and licensing used, the gun was stolen from the shooter's mother. I simply have no idea of the restrictions on weapon and ammunition type available to the average citizen, but I believe that is where we need to start. Automatic weapons should be banned (if not already) for starters.

Why did the mother have them though? He wouldn't have had access to them if they weren't in the home. mmm wrote:I simply have no idea of the restrictions on weapon and ammunition type available to the average citizen, but I believe that is where we need to start. All the weapons the shooter used were legally purchased by his mother. Hollowpoint rounds are also available for civilian use.

look at any other western country that has strict gun laws - these things do not happen anywhere near as often.
your thoughts?
Because the first thing I want to do if someone breaks into my house is stab them with a butter knife I think Gun rights, should be our choice. You cant take away that just because some people get shot everyday. It's not the guns that commit the crimes. It's not the guns we need to blame. It's the person who pulled the trigger. Just because you take guns..you do realize people are still going to kill each other.. ? Knives, Glass, Bows & Arrows, Etc. We can go around the gun law if they take our guns. So truth be told, it doesnt make much of a difference. :/

A lot more damage can be done with an AK-47 than a bow, knife, glass, etc. The medium needs to be put in to place. No semi-automatic/automatic weapons.

I just googled what the shooter used. I had initially thought the shooter only used everyday handguns. I can understand banning full auto glock 18s and the civilian version of the M16. I'm not an expert on hunting, so I'm not sure if anyone uses sig sauers for recreational use. And according to my research hollow tips are all but essential for hunting big game that can take multiple solid core hits and escape/attack before bleeding out. Banning all fully automatic weapons, assault rifles, submachine guns (individuals more versed in weapons can nail down the specific weapon type I'm calling "military-grade") and modifications like extended magazines is less controversial than banning ammunition types and handguns, though both have their exceptions (heavy ammunition and military handguns, for example).
 For trying.

Anonymous intervention has been keen at work to deal with WBC. They have stopped WBC from picketing the funerals of the victims twice, and shall continue to thwart them at every turn.

Well must've been the CIA brainwashing people Anyways, I think it's part of the 1st amendment of the US that you have the right to carry weapons. Kind of a hard rule to break, no?
