Why We Still Need Feminism

I believe for many reasons that the world we live in today still needs feminism. No matter whereabouts in the world, we still need it. Even in western cultures.
Some people disagree - and here's where we can debate why feminism is or isn't needed.
For example, women's positions of power, the way in which men are treated when they are feminine in some aspect, and the way in which women are treated as opposed to the way in which men are treated in similar settings.
This is quite a wide topic to discuss, so before creating my first post below,
I'm posting a few definitions of words so as to hope for less confusion. I'll add more as I see fit. I get these from typing "define ____" into google and copying the definition word for word from the google site result

the advocacy of women's rights on the ground of the equality of the sexes.
feminist: noun

This is the video of accounts of street harassment or things that are generally not okay
Before you say - no, she isn't being complimented, especially when someone just says damn or if they yell.

compliment: noun
a polite expression of praise or admiration.

Your thoughts? Would this have happened to a man wearing the same outfit?

Yes I do agree that women experience street harassment but men do too. Feminism is a thing needed in some situations, but gender inequality can be experienced by men. Many believe men cannot be raped by a women, custody rights for fathers, abortion laws for fathers etc. To argue my point here is a video of a man experiencing street harassment.

That literally popped up after the video, at first I thought it was satire but then I realized a good few good points. As the guy in the video puts them.

this guy starts off his video basically saying he doesn't think the woman was harassed and he's from a prank channel or something so i was a bit sceptical to start

the first girl just slightly gestures which wouldn't be polite but wouldn't be harassment, the shouting is not ok. asking someone for their number in a bar because the person is hot would seem less inappropriate, am i wrong? I've never been in a club or bar or anything so excuse if that's wrong.

but i noticed while walking, he himself 'checks out' a woman in a similar manner to others in his video - by looking her over

yeah this is wrong, and it shouldn't happen to anyone

feminism isn't just about women's rights its also about gender equality

it's true to say she doesn't have to wear tight jeans
but she shouldn't have to limit her style choices so she doesn't get harassed
no, the function of tight jeans isn't to attract a sexual partner - at least not for every girl, some people like how they look in them, and might not be interested in sex at all
the brad pitt point - yes it wouldn't be harassment, but they'd be excited because they even saw brad pitt??

again, he's mislabelled misandrists as feminists - feminists aren't men hating pigs. if they were, there wouldn't be male feminists.
this guy is also assuming everyone wants sex and it makes the video more difficult for people uninterested in sex such as myself

Sorry but your dictionary is from the 1800s. Yeah compliments used to be polite and dont have yelling in them.
If youre really annoyed by that, being a feminist isnt your #1 problem

Difference in opinions, obviously.
