Penn State Penalized.

Well, things have gone crazy.
1) $60 Million fine
2)Loss of scholarships
3)Vacation of wins since 1998
4)Not allowed to play in a bowl game for 4 years
5)Probation
Now, I am not saying that there shouldn't be a penalty, however I believe that the players shouldn't be penalized like that. Those guys busted their butts to play for that school and now they are saying they can't play in a Bowl game? Their wins are vacated? That just drops their status as a player! Thank goodness the NCAA actually has SOME heart and says that they can transfer and play immediately because they don't deserve that.

I think it is stupid, because they are penalizing the players and their hard earned victories as well. Penalties should be on the individuals involved, not the whole organisation.

The only penalty i agree with is the 60 million dollar fine. The rest is bullshit, pardon my language.
It isn't the player's fualt. they did absolutely nothing. They should not be punished for something another person did.

There was this guy in Penn State who was molesting little boys for aboue 13 years. They finally found out, and put the guy in jail for the rest of his life.
And now, the Government is penalizing Penn State for what he did.
It sucks, because the University knew that the guy was molesting those boys for a majority of the time, but the players shoudln't be punnished for it.
so, it's kinda hard to decide of they deserve all, none, or some. O.o

In that case, and if the whole university knew about it, then yes, all should be punished.
If not everyone knew about it, and nobody stands forward giving the names of people who did know, then again the punishment is ok.
If only the principal knew about it and a couple of other higher ranked people, then it's unfair, indeed. And they should lose the right to teach.
Those are my views on the matter, if I got things right.

No. The schoolboard knew about it and the coaching staff knew about it. No players or students were aware about the situation at hand.

In that case they should all lose the right to teach. Possibly the close-down of the school.
Find it hard to believe that all the teachers knew it and none of the students did.
As for the kids, since the coaching stuff was aware of it, I find it fair.

They couldn't close down the school, because I'm sure there's a lot of kids there, right? And I don't think the School Board of Education could cram them all in another close by collage, right? That would be hard, and would need to reject some kids out of collage.
It's too risky. And, to find a whole set of new teachers would be also a difficult challange, consdidering America's economic state at the moment.

That's why there should be many unemployed teachers looking for a job, no?
