maybe I'm just following the right people, but to me, this shows that a lot of tumblr users are not hurtful

I wouldnt have known half the things I know without 4chan
4chan taught me also a ton about self defense.
4chan mentally prepared me for defending myself too
4chan has given me a wide variety of words to express mgself. And it definitely showed me there are more sexualities than hetero and homo. Actually they are pros on this field.
4chan has thought me about oppression.
4chan regularly shows me cute (dead) animals

But also 4chan has CP in it, its user post pictures of dead people and make fun of the way they died, and it has pretty much helped create the dark side of the internet as we know it today.

Just cause it has done a few things, it doesn't mean its good.
I mean hell, Hitler did a few badass paintings himself. And he helped create the most badass war outfits ever.
Does that mean he is good?

Not even dead animals. 4Chan CREATED Caturday.

Anyway, you guys realize what a control group is? You know, it's a well-respected form of research and could actually be used here. That's kind of what people do here, and it's exactly what people do to come up with rape culture statistics. The thing about control groups is they can be biased, using a certain group from a certain area of a certain place.

Bad people on Tumblr
People who have been sexually assaulted

See how these could make statistics seem a bit different?

Hitler is a horrible analogy. Nice try, though.

I didn't read anything past the initial post because I'm lazy as balls, but here's my look at everything.

If I am to provide the conditions for an event to occur against me, it is still my fault.

Example: I am riding my bike down a hill and there is a stop sign at the bottom of the hill. Instead of stopping at said sign, I continue through the sign at full speed and am hit by a car. It is not the drivers fault, it is mine for causing the conditions that caused me to be splattered.

Example 2: I am at a party and consume a large quantity of alcohol. I need to return to my home for the night, and I decide to drive instead of having another individual who is sober take me home. I get in the car and become involved with an accident on the way home. It is my fault because I became drunk and chose to drive.

This type of thinking can also be applied to some "rape" cases.
(Ladies, please note, I do NOT support rape, victimization of women, etc. I simply am playing Devil's Advocate and DO support increase in punishment for LEGITIMATE rape cases)

Say I am a woman going to a night club. When I dress myself, I put on an extremely skimpy outfit. For mental image's sake, this outfit is pretty much not wearing anything at all. In addition to this outfit, I am going to said night club with the mind set that I am going to meet some attractive men who will most likely invite me back to their place of residence for, presumably, coitus to ensue. While at the night club, I consume a copious amount of alcohol and my BAC is .133 (essentially, I am on the verge of passing out). A male approaches me and asks me to return to his residence with him and I accept. Coitus ensues. Next day, I come to my senses and am horrified that I partook in coitus with a random individual and I claim that I was raped.

^ This is what I want to stop. This is NOT legitimate rape due to my intentions when leaving the sanctity of my home, dressed in the fashion I was in, and consumed said amount of alcohol.

Some may say that you are not able to make decisions when drunk, however, Doctor David J. Hanson says that "intoxication doesn't make us do anything against our will and it doesn't prevent us from making rational decisions."

Pretty much, we are the decision makers regarding our own futures, and as such, must be held accountable for our actions, regardless of what "state of mind" we claim to be in at the time.

P.S. Again, I can't stress this enough: I AM NOT CLAIMING RAPE DOESN'T EXIST

P.P.S. I love you guys. <3 Please don't hate me too much for this

I'm not saying it doesn't happen, but you rarely hear of same-sex female rape.

If lesbians can control themselves in a changing room full of naked women, why can't men control themselves in the street with clothed women?

(yes, okay, I'm using the general plurals "lesbians" and "men" etc because it conveys my point better)

Pretty much because women value.. "coitus" a lot less. In a changing room full of naked women I imagine a lesbian would probably at least stare, same as any straight man would, but their first instinct wouldn't be rape, and neither would a (normal) man's.
