Ok, maybe my anti-right views were a little to ranting and extreme there. However, i'm still hostile to right wing and new-right thinking.
Republicans, if they are anything like Tories, think they know what's best for the country, but more often than not it's about what's best for them. Encouraging people to improve their standard of life off their own bat, instead of having to 'leech' off the welfare state is one thing. But distinguishing between a 'deserving' and 'undeserving' poor is very dangerous. So, the tories give tax cuts to those who have more money, and continue to tax the poorer proportionally more.
Cameron will never be as bad as Thatcher, especially due to the Lib-Dem influence. However, most of the cuts he will make (and i know that anyone who got into power would have had to make cuts of one for or another) are going to favour the richer of society. I can't help but feel he is the rich little Eaton Kid who is helping out the pals in his little rich club. It's not that he's against the poor, just that he knows nothing about them. And England voted him in because England by in large has less poverty than Scotland. Hence why we're all raging lefties up here.
Noncon: In my opinion you guys should be thankful for Obama, he's the most left due you've had in some time, and millions of the poorest americans will hopefully be benefiting for it.
On the christian note, your point is why it's extremely difficult to back up a moral view based on religion. At the end of the day it's just your word about what some text actually says against theirs. Morality is hard enough to define without faith.
On abortion: As with so many difficult cases, there can never be one overriding rule if you are an open minded individual. The moral implications surrounding abortion must be looked at in a case by case basis. That's what I think anyway. The only thing moral discussion can do it roughly show where the boundaries lie.
I think Morality will be the next topic in my philosophy corner, which I haven't updated for ages.
But aye, F the right!

Opinions are there to be formed, discussed and changed.
Michael Savage is a right wing bigot. There are honestly not enough insults I can give that man. If you believe him then you are as small minded as him.
And why are you so sad all the time? From my expirience online it seems the right wing crew are the most messed up. You are so frightened and conservative. Of course vote for what you believe in. But a real patriot votes for whats best for the country, not whats best for them alone.
And whats best for your country is not some fascist racist homophobic slimey creature on the radio fear-mongering amongst middle america that the black/gay/communists are going to eat your apple pie.
Please, for the good of mankind, see sense!

NOBODY GET OFFENDED BY WHAT IM ABOUT TO SAY
mintyfresh- maybe the reason some of the people a little farther right are so 'sad' is because our very very very extremist republican families spend our childhoods cramming propoganda down our throats before we learn to form our own opinions.
