Sharing out your online profile is the same as doing these things. Giving people your facebook, myspace, or other profiles online is the same as handing out all these things to a stranger. Without even posting your address, it is not hard to find you through your profile. People can pretend they are your age when really, they want to do nasty things to you. Would you give photos of yourself to an old man on the street? How about sending your picture to someone online?

It's the same thing.

Exactly-Personal information is called personal for a reason.Not because monkeys chew your bananas while you're asleep.It's not because cats can play ping pong with their tails.And it's not cause elephants are stamping around Frook's garden-it's cause it's your job to keep it personal.Yes some of you might think "Go to hell it's my life!" Well some people look out for you,these people are called moderators and admins.If someone is telling you not to share personal info and they are not green or orange,they only want you to be safe.

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the perfect reason not to make a facebook profile.

Agree with shadow there.Im probably one of the few here without facebook.Most people that call me a no life have a facebook,but at least i wont end up as an actual no life.

I have facebook but my security is so tight no one can find me.

just dont post your real name or address with the photos (here or anywhere else for that matter)

just a question : soo is this different for mods then because most of the mods have added each other on fb and msn . so isnt that given out details that are personal . so us mods are basically doing a great job of teaching the rest of the chat to do it too lol haha whoo go us mods proud of us

And most of us mods are over 16, and modded because we are sensible and trustworthy... this is more aimed at the younger kids who don't understand the dangers of telling everyone everything.
