His name is Kendall. His mom works with me and we were closing one night, I had my music playing (The Living Tombstone Five Nights At Freddys) and she said her son liked that kind of music. So I asked her if he had ever heard of FNAF and she said she had heard him say something about it before, so I asked her if he watched Markiplier and she said yes... I then asked, in a sarcastic way, "how old is he? with my luck he's a teenager." and she said "He's 25". Immediately I asked "is he single?" A week later I told her to give him my number, and he text me like an hour later and we talked a bit and then he asked me out to dinner the next morning. I've waited 4 days for this date and I'm super excited. All I know about him so far is that he's 25, he's LDS, and he is going to school in Chemical Engineering. I don't know what he looks like though...I'm a little nervous about that, but he doesn't know what I look like either, and he's still excited to go out with me, so we'll see how it goes. Here's hoping it works out.

Win. O3O sounds like a really decent guy. Good luck, I would definitely like to be in your position with that. Lel.

He's shorter than me and not very cute though... But I'll give it a shot...

Why?! Why is dating so damn awkward?! Tonight while I was at work Kendall came in without warning and brought me some brownies his mom had made... It's a nice gesture, but gosh dang it made things so awkward for me... I don't think he's cute, but we have a lot in common... One of the girls I work with is a gym junkie and straight up told me to stop talking to him, but that's because she's a really shallow person and will only date a guy if he's hot... some of the girls said he wasn't cute and I could do better... and one girl told me that although it's important to be attracted to someone, that it's more important that they are a good person and treat you nice... I really want a cute LDS nerd you guys! If I found him attractive...he would be the perfect guy...But I just don't... and now he wants to go to dinner on Thursday, and I'm just not sure I can do that... not after the awkward situation he put me through tonight... I hate the thought of people thinking I'm shallow, and I kind of feel shallow since I want a cute guy to date me... is that shallow? Is it shallow to want someone who not only treats me well, but who I think is attractive too? You guys have no idea how much this is freaking me out... It's all just so out of my comfort zone, and I'm honestly scared... I hate this... I hate being a grown up... I hate dating... I hate being afraid of change... If you can't tell, I'm kind of panicking here...

First of all, if you have no actual attraction to his appearance whatsoever - which seems pretty clear - there's nothing you can do to convince yourself that you will ever love him.
If you are attracted to him in all ways except physical - which it seems like you are, because you were very excited for the date before you met him and seem pretty torn about the experience afterwards, then yes, it would be considered shallow by people. I'm not judging - appearance is an important part of being with someone, but it shouldn't be the be all and end all.
He came into your work and gave you some homemade brownies - in what way did he make you feel awkward? It seems like a really nice thing to do. Maybe you just don't click. If you really can't stand him, then the best thing to do is make that clear immediately. Remember there are two people involved here, and he deserves as much of a chance at love as you do. If you find it difficult to let him go, then you know there's something more.
Hope that helps somewhat!

I'm currently sitting in a hospital room next to my sleeping brother... He was life flighted here Tuesday because he had a stroke. After lots of testing and scans they found nothing wrong with him and no signs of a stroke... Doctors say he has vertigo and complex migraines. Something that has the symptoms of a stroke, but doesn't show up on a CT or MRI. My life is so out of control right now... I even told my boss not to schedule me at all next week...

My brother got to come home Thursday evening and now my grandma is in the ER... She had a panic attack Wednesday (probably from worrying about my brother and my family) and went to the doctor to get medication. They gave her a depression pill and an anti-anxiety pill that are to be taken together so they help each other... well she took the depression pill on an empty stomach and as you can imagine it has just messed her up big time... My dad convinced her to go to the ER tonight so my aunt (who's husband died last month) took her and not only is she dehydrated, her sodium level is so low that she should be admitted to the hospital, but she refuses to allow that because it's "too expensive". . . She hasn't eaten anything since yesterday and she can't keep anything down, and she's shaking like a leaf. This is the same grandma who fell and broke her hip last year (and on the way down the door cut a gash into her arm) and had to crawl across her house to get to a phone. Sorry if these is all over the place. . . Long story short... My grandma is in the ER because she took medication on an empty stomach after having an anxiety attack and she's not doing too well...
