Skype has a hard limit of 10 people. Google plus does not, so there is nothing preventing everyone from using G+. That said, if people are so passionate about it, we can start the stream off on Skype if there is software out there that could support it. If the limit is reached, I am taking the stream to G+ so everyone can participate.

Because we're streaming it to the majority of people who will not be joining us on the call and still want to participate.

If you're not streaming it then it's not going to be a community event as the community cannot access it.

Even if you were to do so, we'd then have two competing streams.
